October is one of my favourite months of the year – Autumn has begun, the leaves are starting to change, the weather is getting a little cooler and the days are getting a little shorter.
With October comes Halloween, and while it is believed its origins come from Samhain—a Celtic festival where people would light bonfires and wear masks to ward off spirits, it is much more recognised these days as a holiday that is mostly celebrated in the USA. If you love Halloween and want to incorporate some elements into your wedding day, this inspiration offers a subtle nod without being full of vampires and spookiness. Perfect for an elegant and classic Halloween wedding or a chic Halloween party with friends.
Using a colour palette of black and gold as the base, infusions of blush and deep burgundy in the flowers work beautifully together, while the gold pumpkins are a witty nod to Halloween. Lots of lit candles in black, blush and burgundy; black and gold stationery, and black and gold table settings add to an ethereal, Halloween feel.
