This editorial shoot entitled Modern Romance I designed, planned and styled was created with the modern couple in mind. The inspiration was an outdoor ceremony in a space that combined a love of architecture and classic details, while still keeping the wedding modern and luxe. Wotton House in Dorking was the perfect setting for this shoot, with its stunning Italian garden this 17th-century house has a long tradition of entertaining guests.
Johanna Pedrick Flowers created a floral installation which we added to the front of the Temple in the Italian Garden, complementing the landscaped gardens beautifully. While the Temple is a stunning space in it’s own right, it was important that we enhanced this area with flowers to really emphasis its beauty. The asymmetrical pillars included greenery, roses and peonies and framed the detail of the Temple. Accompanying pillar arrangements either side of the installation tied it all together, and we added chair-ends of roses and greenery to create the illusion of an aisle. Our dreamy colour palette was a combination of blush, pale pink and pale peach and it harmonised beautifully with lots of greenery to create a romantic and modern feel to the outdoor space.
We used the Old Library in the hotel as the setting for our reception, and with intricate gold and glass detail and its high ceiling, it creates an airy and romantic space. The colour palette continued through the table centrepieces, silk runner by Kate Cullen and candles. We combined modern style-led stationery designed by Lynda Loves with simple yet elegant tableware and glassware that sat amongst the smaller centrepieces, so as not to distract from the detail of the room. The cake designed by Sugar Plum Bakes was simple and detailed with gold edging and roses in keeping with the luxe modern feel.
Our bride wore elegantly simple gowns by Luella’s Bridal and shoes by Harriet Wilde, with hair and make up by Your Wedding Your Look.
The overall feeling of the shoot was modern, luxe and romantic.
