Blue is one of the most timeless and calming wedding colours according to Pantone, and they have named Classic Blue the 2020 Colour of the Year. I think we’ll see a lot more of this cool and elegant hue this year and into next.
Using a colour as a base is a fantastic starting point for your wedding look and feel and blue is an adaptable colour that works well for weddings regardless of the season. Incorporating pops of yellow and white for a summer wedding reminds me of the Mediterranean and the beach, and using shades of navy and celestial accents makes a winter wedding feel even more wintery!
This inspiration board features my take on ideas for using Classic Blue in your wedding without being a slave to the Pantone trend. Different textures add some luxe and varying shades of blue with added pops of blush and pink create a modern vibe to an elegant and romantic wedding.
You could use varying shades of blue across all the elements of your wedding as this inspiration board shows, or focus on specific details such as the stationery, cake, decor or your wedding shoes! Contrasting bridesmaid dresses are one of my favourite ways to use colour for your wedding, and adding little touches in the décor can really make the day personal to you.
